Credits 3A survey of the social, economic, political and intellectual history of women from pre-Colonial times to the present. Within a chronological context, the course pays particular attention to women activists and political contributions. Meets the General Education requirement for History and Diversity.
HIST217: The Holocaust and Genocide
Credits 3Study of the causes and roots of genocide with particular attention given to the Holocaust during the Nazi regime in Germany. Students will gain an increased understanding of the holocaust and genocide studies. Students will develop skills in analytical thinking, critical reading, and effective communication. They will acquire a knowledge of and perspective on the past to become knowledgeable citizens in the 21st century.
HIST220: African American History
Credits 3This course is designed to introduce students to the major themes, issues, and debates in African American history from its African origins until today. It will survey the formation of the African American Identity and culture, demographic and migration patterns, contributions of African Americans to the larger culture and in-depth analysis of the struggle for freedom and equality. Meets General Education requirement for History and Diversity.
