Covers aspects of practical marine weather including the fundamental maritime weather concepts needed to plan safe and efficient voyages with a focus on decision making. Topics include, but are not limited, to pressure and wind, global winds and currents, strong wind systems, clouds, fog, wind and terrain, weather maps, sources of weather data and onboard forecasting.
Prerequisites
ENGL070 with a grade of C or better or placement into ENGL080 or ENGL101 (ESLN092 and ESLN100 may be taken concurrently).
