This course builds on Practical Nursing I developing clinical decision-making and caring interventions for patients with various medical-surgical conditions. A family-centered approach is integrated into caring for childbearing women, newborns, and children, highlighting normal growth and development and common pediatric disorders. The QSEN competencies are used throughout the course to enhance the students’ knowledge of, attitudes, care of, and skills in providing quality and safe patient health care in various clinical settings.

Prerequisites

Completion of NUPN101 with a grade of C or better.
